‘Go Eco’ is a fund raising effort to change Lilla Björn into an Eco friendly craft by upgrading its petrol outboard motor to an electric outboard motor.
At present Lilla Björn is propelled/driven by an excellent quality Honda 4 stroke outboard. Considered to be the best of class, Honda, according to most is the bench mark for outboards of this type. Reliable & efficient is great news for you, our clients when utilising this craft for your getaway on the water. And it is truely quiet. However, AquaStay is committed to do its best to support as Eco friendly a tourist industry as possible. So we would like you to support this effort to go green.

It’s true there is more to this. For me it’s not just the no noise or vibration (& with the Honda there is very little of either). It’s the absolute ease of use. ‘Turn on & go’ is as easy as it gets and it’s something everyone can connect with. Everyone has had some exposure to electrical machinery or gadget and is familiar with ‘turn on & use’. It’s that simplicity that allows everyone to enjoy what they’re here to do, experience the Arctic by water.
Any petrol outboard is in itself a complex piece of machinery. Prevailing conditions can require an adjustment of use, including the user. So the simple act of too little or too much choke and now time, energy & focus is not on enjoying your holiday time.
After researching the growing market in electric propulsion our aim is to purchase a Aqua Watt Green Power electric outboard and accessories to make Lilla Björn “Green”.
